Hope you guys can help me out, I bought my Yukon brand new and my warranty is just about to be over. I recently got a letter in the mail for GM asking me if I want an extended bumper to bumper warranty for 1650$. I guess it's additional 3 year 45,000 mile warranty full coverage. What do you guys think worth it or not?

do you like to work on your tahoe or typically bring it to a repair shop/dealer when there is an issue??

45k miles and 3yrs is a nice piece of insurance....especially if it's bumper to bumper.

Read the fine print and if its truly bumper to bumper, it may be worth for it. The kick in the nuts is that you won't know if it was $$ well spent until you use it.

I'm not familiar with how well the newer Tahoes were holding up, if someone on here has any idea, it may help your decision.

First off, look online. I almost purchased an extedned warranty on wifes 08 Altima. Dealer was $1400, found one online, backed by a Nissan dealer in California, backed by any Nissan dealers for same duration for about half the price.

Extended warranties are good, piece of mind...but you can bargain them down.

Yes, look online. I got a online quote from Black Cadillac in PA. They had a good price compared to retail. I took their quote to my dealer and told them I had gotten an online price and before I could even say what it was they told me they would give it to me for $100 over cost. They showed me the cost in a printed and bound GMPP booklet. This was $100 cheaper then Black's price which I now know is $200 over cost which was still a good price compared to retail. The markup from cost to retail was $675 for the one I got (new vehicle 6 mo. old) so the dealers have some room to wiggle. The dealer finance person also told me they get some incentives back based upon the percentages of warrantys they sell vs the number of vehicles they sell. BTW I also got a letter and quote from GM and it was only about $100 or so (can't remember exactly) below full retail.

Thats a pretty good deal. I wished I had accepted an extended warranty. GM sent me a letter regarding that about 2 years ago I think? but I ignored it. Is there any way I could still get on the deal? I have an 07 with 70K.

Unfortunately, since the warranty has expired you are unable to purchase the GMPP.

Thank you,

I just got a warranty (GMPP Major Guard) from www.gmoutlet.com. They were much cheaper then local dealer was willing too go.

Get a quote from them and if your local dealer won't match, consider getting it online. I checked with GM and they verified they were a licensed GM Dealer.
