Yes. I took apart an 02 Denali and the center console, lower dash area didn't have any kind of MIC in it. Granted it was an 02. Also had the older Onstar in it also. These were the only mics I found in the whole truck.WP_20160523_034.jpg

That tiny grill in the headliner is NOT a microphone. Its an aspiration fan, something to do with the auto climate controls. There are also temperature sensors in the truck for the climate control. If your truck has the auto climate control, I suspect that is a temperature sensor in the center console and not a microphone. The only actual microphone that I know of is the one clipped to the side of the overhead console next to the reading lights.

That's right, I forgot that was for the auto climate controls. The part number from my first post says its a microphone when I googled that part number. There are also a few eBay listings that say OnStar microphone. I'm not saying those listings are correct. I just need to know exactly what this is since I'm deleting the center console to convert to a front bench seat. I know what everything else is for and have a plan to relocate or eliminate. But I'm still unsure about the mic I pulled out.

@Tonyrodz , that's funny that you mention the Mic on the overhead console. Id seen them in all the other 2003+ suvs that belong to the family I live with when I detail them so I knew they had them. But I didn't think my 2006 had the little Mic. Never noticed it because it's always hiding behind the overhead visor that I never flip down to use. Sure enough there it was behind the visor haha
