What is over ride?

I don't want to seem dumb, but on my new to me 2004 Tahoe I have the over ride option. At least it it the best riding truck I have ever owned. Can someone tell me what to look for? Thanks in advance

Over ride or overdrive?

Override is for the dome lights and overdrive is for the transmission (for towing a trailer)

Phil, did you mean "Auto Ride" by any chance? Auto Ride is the self-leveling suspension system that some of these trucks have. It's an air shock setup that helps keep the rear of the truck level when towing or carrying increased weight. Very plush ride. You mentioned that it's the "best riding truck" you've ever owned, so that would make sense.

Yea definitely sounds like the OP is talking about AutoRide. The ride is so much better with it.

When I decided to get myself a Tahoe for the second time, I made sure the truck would be without the autoride.
The system is an exellent thing when it works, but a pain in the ass when it breaks down.
Expensive to replace.
