What lights up?

Hey all,

First post. I just picked up an 06 Tahoe Z71. I also have an 04 Avalanche. In comparing the two, I notice that the steering wheel controls on the Tahoe are not lit at night as they are on the AV. Only the "I" button is lit. Is this by design or are there some bulbs out?

Also the light control panel on the left side of the dash by the door is dark, on my Av it is lit? Same thing, is this by design or should I start looking for bulbs to replace?

Thanks, good to have a forum for the Tahoe, I use the Avalanche forums a lot and they are full of good info.

Welcome. I believe all the steering wheel lights are supposed to light up and the light controls light up also.

Yeah, all the steering wheel buttons should lite up. My volume lite is out.

And FYI: none of the bulbs were designed to be replaced. Every single one is soldered in. Best thing to do is solder in new bulbs, or some LEDs in place of the bulbs.
