Into NAPA I went today to buy some new end links and mounting bushings for the front sway bar. I see some wear and they're cheap enough in Poly, so what the heck.

Open up the book and the counter guy asks what size front bar? I have no idea. He shows me they have listings for something like 5 different sizes, all in 1/16 or 1/8 inch increments.

Will my VIN give me the answer or the build code tag? I'm concerned that if I crawl under there to knock off the undercoating and muck and paint to try to mic it, I'm not going to get the right numbers due to age, pitting, whatever.

What's the general advise on how to proceed in this instance?

Next, I ask about the rear sway bar....figure change out those mounts and the 4 bushings in the links.....he doesnt show ANY application for a rear sway bar.

Any idea on where to get these bushings from?

My Tahoe didn't come with a rear sway bar at all. I upgraded from the factory bar and am running BellTech bars, front and rear. I'm not really sure how much of a difference a 1/16 or an 1/8 is gonna make on the endlink you select though.

i ordered the rears from energy suspension and went to napa and just put the bushings on till i found the right ones. It will go on without taking the bar off and they wont break when you open them up to go on..seems like it will though. I have a 99 lt also, cant remember the size though..or use a diameter gauge..also i couldnt get my front end links off to save my life, they werent to bad so i left them

No, not the end links...the mount for the sway bar itself as it mounts to the K-frame.

Ohh...
I went to a dealer to get replacements for mine...just needed the frame mount brackets - said they only came in one size. Though a 2wd 4d, mine is a 1999 LT also.
