Rocket Man, any chance you'd be willing to rent or sell that tool?? J45860 if I'm reading the manual correctly.Yep, ABS tone ring. It’s what the ABS sensor reads as it spins with the axle. It shouldn’t have come out unless you inserted the bearing puller too far. Reinstalling it needs a special Kent-Moore tool according to the service manual. I bought a used one off eBay when replacing mine, it’s a big heavy thing that presses it into the right distance from the end of the axle tube. Also, a new one comes with a sticky substance that I believe holds it in place to the axle do it doesn’t slip, afaik. The manual doesn’t specifically say to not reuse a tone ring (they call it a sensor ring) but I wouldn’t, it’s buried so if you reinstall it and it slips you have to pull the axle, seal, bearing and sensor ring again. Not trying to make things complicated but if it fails you’ll get traction control, stabilitrack and abs errors.
Where did you buy that from?Rocket Man, any chance you'd be willing to rent or sell that tool?? J45860 if I'm reading the manual correctly.
Guess I can recall this, I just ordered a Reman Rear Diff with the rings in it already. Ring gear and axle are showing wear so I'm just replacing the whole thing.
