¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Those “chocks” are also used to release the latch mechanism for the spare if it gets stuck. I saw some instructions about that too.

Does anyone know what this thing is? I was moving my passenger front seat all the way forward and heard the metal on metal sound of this rubbing and reached under from the back and found this. It does not go on the seat, I am assuming. I think it is from elsewhere and found it's way to that place.

My son borrowed my hoe recently and ran over someone’s receiver hitch on the interstate, which caused a blow out and destroyed the left front tire. I then had to buy 2 new Michelins since the tread was about 1/2 worn. An unexpected $600 expense.I guess I had similar problems with my jack equipment. I found this pic in my Tahoe folder from my 03. Hope it helps make it a bit clearer for you.View attachment 251883

Thx for the info. Do you have a pic of it?My son borrowed my hoe recently and ran over someone’s receiver hitch on the interstate, which caused a blow out and destroyed the left front tire. I then had to buy 2 new Michelins since the tread was about 1/2 worn. An unexpected $600 expense.
The tire store didn’t reinstall the spare correctly so I had to retrieve the jack tools from the tire tool storage bag. Getting everything back in that tiny space was a PITA. My son told me that the tool bag must go in first, then the jack. That worked!
Tony, the curved wire with threads on one end is the retainer that holds the chocks onto the body of the jack. There is a large plastic nut that screws onto it after you put it thru the hole in the chock to hold it to the jack. To install it, the jack must be installed correctly first.
