I removed my roof racks and I am unsure of how to get a clean smooth look. I put silicone in the bolt holes and put the bolts back in but it looks a little funny to me. I am thinking that if I paint the bolt heads it won't look as funny. Any ideas ?

Essentially a set screw. Which yes will solve the bolt head problem. But your still gonna have the metal rings poking up unless you remove them.

This is my problem and why I haven't taken my roof rack off ... all the inserts are damn near flush with the roof except 1 on ea side.

Ahh haha gotcha. Yea my phone will do stuff like that too.

Yea not much you can do other than remove them and weld the holes up.

Painting them would help though.
