What will allow me to show up the 5.3's?

So on my way to work, a guy in a nbs silverado is messing around and we go at it, and i lose.....embarassing. I want to know what theres is to do about this issue...I'm not talking about out running camaro's, just 5.3's!

Swap in an LS lol. Easier to get power out of them. Cam, Headers, CAI, Tune= 400+hp.

i can tell you on my tahoe i have a 91 octane tune lt headers with no cats CAI and corvette servo..i raced a 5.3 regular cab silverado thats "stock" and it left me by a car..i believe a cam or some 4.10 gears would give me the win next time

Well I dont think ill be taking it to a track. Haha. But I was just wonderin what it would take. We all like to have fun and run around every now and then! Why are they so much quicker with 5lb less and 20? More hp?is it just because of the weight difference? Thanks for the input

They flow more air and have mid range like crazy. Also the weight difference of the Silverado vs. Your Tahoe.

A silverado with the same mods as I will SMOKE me just because of the weight difference of a Silverado vs My HEAVY Suburban

weight is basically the biggest factor in this..my tahoe has a 5.3 and a silverado has a 5.3 with my mods i got closer to it but my weight still slowed me down..i will be adding a roll pan and removing the spare tire to cut some weight on it

Find a used Whipple sc and double the output of the vortec 350. And yes a Whipple helps a vortec 350 that much.

Sunlit, I've always loved the sound and power a supercharger can bring, but i know there's more to it than just the bolt on s/c! What needs to go on there to compensate for twice the power? Do you know of anywhere that will have a s/c for obs?
