Tint is my next mod. What percentage do y'all have? I am thinking about just matching the front with the factory in the rear. Any one know what that percentage is?

I run 5% over the factory in the rear with 20% up front and a big 5% banner on the windshield. I do want to get the whole windshield wrapped in 35% again though that was so nice during the summer time

The tint shop will tell you what % to match they have a tint meter. On my truck they tinted 20% on the front side windows to match the rear and it looks good.

The only answer anyone should ever put on the internet is "Whatever tint is at or below the legal percentage limit", otherwise they'd be publicity admitting to having a vehicle that not legal to use on public roads (so I guess the show car only guys could talk about darker tint,,, because there are so many new Tahoes/ Yukons that are off-road use only show cars out there).

Basically if you see a car with the front windows tinted to match the back, safe bet its illegal and gives LEO's justifiable probably cause to pull you over whenever they like.

With that said, plenty of people have ran "illegal" window tint for decades without issue. Just talk with the tint shop, most have a little display glass of the various percentages of tint and most know what's legal and what's not.

I wouldn't bail out my own kids if they did something stupid, posted on the internet "hey I did something stupid", then got busted for doing said stupid thing,,,so no.

I'm no angel (I may have even lost my drivers license a few times when I was younger for doing stupid things), but putting out on the internet (that never forgets and is always searchable) that you're intentionally breaking a law sure seems silly.

ya i gave up that ghost way back when I was running a screaming 14.4kbps modem online. my mug shot is online, meh f-kit IDC anymore
my police record started at about age 7, FBI file before i was an adult, i'm sure the local pd has bigger fish to fry than worrying about my driving infractions.
I even blatantly have no front plate in my profile pic! GASP

I was stationed in Commiefornia back in the mid to late 2000s, they took my drivers license for "exhibition of speed", meaning I didn't actually break any speed limit, I just got to the speed limit to quickly in their opinion.

And I had to file SR22 insurance to get my license back (which is way expensive for a single male that owns sport bikes). No accidents, no injuries, no alcohol or other drugs involved ever, but good ole Commiefornia sure threw a hurting at my wallet. I thought they would have better things to do other than punish a victimless crime too ,,, I was wrong.

for as many tickets I have had for a variety of things including multiple instances of illegally tinted windows we are not yet at the authoritarian point of where the judge is going to search your name up online and read your internet postings and nail you to the wall. they just put there hand out and say pay me! and you are off on your way.
the fine here is about $200 which is about the same amount it would cost to have it removed, get a write off on the ticket and then have the tint re-applied.
**** it, I have had like 3 tickets for window tint in the last 25 years I'll live.

This is exactly what I have on my rig. Abd I have NEVER been pulled over for my window tint. I've had other cars in the past that had 20% tint all the way around, and I have been pulled over several times because of the tint. But in the 19 years I have been driving my Suburban, not one single time.
