Alright, so here's the deal. I bought a '95 Yukon a couple weeks ago for a decent price. Had the radiator replaced, and 2 or 3 days ago my coolant started disappearing again, but I checked VERY thoroughly and could not find a leak anywhere so I'm assuming it's time for an intake gasket. It also has 143k on it and even though the tranny is shifting fine I'm preparing for it to go out around the 150k mark anyway. I do a decent amount of traveling (working in another state) and will rack up miles pretty quick.

So far my repairs are:

*Radiator (paid retarded amount at a shop because I needed it done right then)
*Time for an intake gasket
*Possibly a tranny (just preparing, like I said)

The thing is that I've been wanting to buy a '65 or '66 mustang since I was a kid and I was contemplating on selling the Yukon and driving cheap vehicles again for a while (to save up a little more $$$$).

Just looking for some opinions, I want a Mustang pretty bad but I love my Yukon, too. If I keep the Yukon it's going to be something I keep for a while and will get a Jegs crate engine when the engine dies some day (better not be any time soon!)

Intake gasket is easy on a tbi

I know this, I'm not worried about the intake gasket. Just trying to decide if I should keep the Yukon or sell it while I try to save up more money. I have a good amount saved already and if I sold the Yukon I would need just a little bit more.

Sort of a dumb thread, but whatever...

You said the tranny is fine, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Once you get the coolant problem taken care of you should be good to go. I'd hold on to it to save up for your Mustang. Even after your purchase I'd use the Yukon for the daily driver and transporting/acquiring parts.

Probably what I'm going to do.

I meant easy as in cheap...but it sounds to me like you should sell your truck and buy a 4cyl beater. You'll save lots of money on gas and it won't take long before you can buy a project mustang.

I'd be buying one that's already restored, been saving money for quite a while and just need a little more to get there. I would have been able to buy a project car a long time ago but I honestly have no interest in taking years to restore one.

Keep the Yukon. 143k is low miles. If the transmission goes, find yourself a new rebuilt one and install it yourself if you can. Intake gasket is not a big deal, nor is the radiator. If you are looking into finding a car to restore in a few years, you will want something that you can haul with and trailer if needed.
