Hi everyone,
The shiny (polished aluminum?) inserts on my 22" denali oem wheels has some staining from what i suppose is brake dust. Anyone have a good wheel cleaner they can recommend?
Thanks!

A friend of mine who is a full-time automotive/truck Mechanic and a Detailer on the side, told me to use Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel and Tire Cleaner for cleaning Chrome wheels (which I have). I have had good success with this product.

Other folks on this Forum will chime in with their preferences and perspectives.

i did a 2011 avalanche last year rims were getting discolored with brake dust and sitting under something that was probably constantly raining a yellow pollen on it. maguires cleaned off the majority but the slightly discoloration was still there. i hit it with some light duty polishing compound and gave it a little hand buffing and most of the color came right back.

If it's not built up then a quick wash with the above mentioned "hot rims" works pretty good but anything more then that, a guy definitely needs to use some elbow grease!!

I picked up a spray bottle of turtle wax clean and shine ($2.50 at walmart LOL) and used it on my black Mayhem wheels. Hoping to simply repel dirt and make them easier to clean when I run it through the automatic car wash. They look pretty awesome right now but I will know more later in the week after I run it through the auto car wash a few times to see if the turtle wax clean and shine application helps.

if your wheels are just dirty with brake dust and road grime, some good hot water and dish soap with a soft cloth works miracles
