wheel offset ?

just added a 3"/2" leveling kit to my 08 Tahoe LTZ
now i need to finish it off with rims and tire...
looking for suggestions...
have OEM 20x9 rims and was going to stick with this size.
what do you think about a -12mm offest with 285/55/20 tires? i think this might stick outside the width of the car, but?

or should i stick with a wheel closer to zero (0) offset?

i ran a 285/55/20 on a 20x9 +18 and it was poking out just a hair. i would assume with a -12 offset you would be poking out quite a bit.

-12 offset will sit outside the fender by an 1" or more. I would stick with a 0 offset so its maybe 1/2" at most outside of fenders. The +12 offset would put you flush with fender edge.

So I actually went with the -12 offset.
Even though it does sit outside the fender well, it looks great.. I'll post pics soon. I went with the 285/55/20 Toyo Open Country A/T II on ProComp Vertigo 40 rims
I do have a rub issue now. I have the auto up/down running boards (OEM) and the tires rub at ~60% turn. Any thoughts or ideas on how to trim them?

Take a grinder with sand paper wheel to smooth the plastic ends back. The -12 looks good just not sure how it will look on a level kit. I like it on lifts for the width vs height stance. Post up some pics and we can help get it right for you.

Looks good dude! Strip them door molding off and LTZ on side but only leave "HOE" on the door. Trim that running board with some sander paper flapper wheel on a grinder or dremel it back some.
