I am going to upgrade the wheels and tires on my 07 Suburban from. From the stock 17’s to the 20’s. I started thinking about the factory 22’s, that came on the Escalades, but my friends says the the 22 have a bad ride quality. I have a 16 Sierra with stock 20’s, and I love the ride of that truck. I am seeking opinions. Which would be better? The the stock 20’s or the Escalade stock 22’s?

If you’re keeping the same overall diameter you’ll get more sidewall with 20’s. I’ve had 22’s with 305/40 tires and 275/50. Check out the tire size calculator and see what works. Obviously more sidewall equals softer ride.

Does your LT have z55? If so, the 22” will be easily tamed. Otherwise stick with the 20’s. I’ve had an 06 & 08 YXL Denali and the current 09 Escalade ESV. They had 17’s, 20’s & currently factory 22’s on the Escalade.

The best ride was the 08 with z55 and the 20’s. The 22’s are susceptible to tire manufacturer imperfections and inexperienced tire balancing techs.

There’s a LTZ Burb in my city with the same diamond white pearl as our Esky with the rims below and retractable running boards. It looks better than our Esky I think. I love the open lug rims in chrome.

Split 7’s are awesome. There’s a dealer here with a used set and decent tires for $750. I went to get them for my ‘23 Sierra but they didn’t fit due to the new brake calipers on ‘19 and up trucks. I was really bummed but thanked the honest dealer. I had them on a ‘14 Sierra.

Thanks for the Input. I’m going to go with thrn20’s I have them on my Sierra SLT. That truck rides really smooth. I was unsure of the 22’s and how they rode.

20’s are the sweet spot. 22’s are popular again because GM offers the lifetime warranty on z55 / z95 struts now.

When I hit a huge pothole on my 22’s I think of Emeril … BAM! Lifetime warranty.
