I am thinking of installing the MTH FUEL OCTANE DEEP Wheels... more specifically the 20x12's on my '99 2door Tahoe.

My question is how much would I need to lift the Tahoe if I put low profile mud tires on the wheels?... would I need to lift it at all if I put on low profile tires like the Nitto Grapplers?

Also, does anyone know who makes the lowest profile semi-aggresive mud tire out there? If at all possible I would like to install the wheels with minimal lift.

I recently purchased this rig and am hoping to do some modifications. I am a new member to this site and somewhat naive when it comes to tire and wheel set-ups. Any help would be appreciated... thanks in advance!

nitto mud crapplers 33x12.50r20
nitto trail grappler 295x55r20
iroc radial 33x13.50r20
trxus mt 33x12.50r20
bfg km2 305x55r20
mickey MTZ 33x12.50r20
cepek mud country 305x55r20
pro comp xtreme MT 305x55r20
toyo MT 33x12.50r20

Smallest size is a 33x12.50, with 12" wide wheels that have 4.75" BS they definitely won't fit a stock truck.

IMO, put the Toyos on it. They last a long time and they are pretty good off road.

Okay, so a 4" lift would be minimum?

Also looking at the suspension thread... you would recommend a Body Lift instead of a Suspension lift? Are body lifts more expensive? And if that is the way to go what brand(s) would you recommend?

Also, what did you mean by a "true" lift in the other thread?

Thanks for your help so far!

With a wheel that wide, yeah I think 4" would be minimum

A body lift and a torsion bar crank is an option also for a lot less money. Performance Accessories is a good name.

As for a true or real lift I meant a kit that allows you to lower the front differential yielding a lift with out horrible suspension geometry as a side effect.

Awesome... thanks for the help.

Is there "true" lift kit that you would recommend? If so, what kind of time would it take to install the kit. Assuming a guy is fairly experienced with a wrench. I've never tackled a lift before...

Rough country is a good option, I have only ever used two lifts though. The rough Country and the cepek....cepek is no longer made I hear.

Post some pics... im going with the same thing but 20s instead of 22s. You shouldnt have any problems with that set up.
