I'm trying to install a Bluestar in my 2005 Tahoe, but I can't seem to find the Onstar unit. I''ve ripped out the stereo, looked under the glove box, but don't see anything. I would remove the chassis that the stereo mounts to to look behind it, but it appears to be held in place by rivets. I've heard that in some cars it is next to the passenger airbag, but I am hesitant to remove the cover for that as I don't want that to go bad. Any advice will be appreciated.

Its on top of the dash, behind the radio. Have to remove the dash cover, which is not all that difficult.

Remove the bezel, remove the two side pieces, remove vents (they just pull out). Remove grab handle (once vents are out, reach your hand in and up, you'll feel a push button. Pull out while pushing the button in on both sides). Remove all bolts / screws, pull the dash pad toward you then up and wallah - its off. You'll see the box mounted on top of the dash.

How do pull just the passenger side grab handle without pulling anything else apart? Is that possible ?

Have to take the vents out, all they do is pull straight out. You could drop the glove box and reach up there, but its easier to take vents out.

Which vents? When I was that 02 apart, I couldn't get it out, my friend helped me .He pushed in some type of clip or something from inside, behind the dash pad. I have the nice one from the Denali, so I was thinking of swapping out mine.

That's what I'm saying. The two vents on the right side of the dash, either side of the passenger airbag. Grab the center of the vent with your fingers and pull straight towards you. It may pull just the center part of the vent or it may pull the entire thing. If it pulls just the center, remove that, then pull out the bezel around the vent the same way. Reach in and up towards the handle. You'll feel a rod (No puns), and towards the front of the dash (part facing you) you'll feel a rectangular spring loaded button. Push that in while pulling on the handle (to pull it out of the socket) on both sides, and it will slide right out. To install the new one, just push it in until you hear 2 clicks.

Do you have it working yet ? I looked it up. Looks like a cool product. And for the money should work good too. This is the first I have seen and heard of this.
