Where/What to buy? A/C compressor for 95 TAhoe GM 1134343

A/C compressor for 95 TAhoe 6.5 TD GM part number 1134343

Where is the best place to buy a replacement?

What is the best to buy for a replacement?

We will probably have this vehicle til it rots away to nothing. We are on our 3rd compressor. The previous replacements were new AC Delco's.

All the recomended procedures were taken when changing the parts.

Are these compressors more prone to failure than others?

This compressor is leaking around the seals fron & back.

The Tahoe now has about 245,000 miles. The OEM compressor lasted over 100,000 miles. So we've gone through 3 in 140,000 miles or so.

Any recommendations on a good fix that will last a long time? The wife is wanting to get rid of it.
I need a fix that will stay fixed for 100,000 miles or so.

I've never learned A/C even though I have the card.

You can imagine what we've paid for 3 compressors.

While we're at it I just as well inquire about the rest of the parts in the system. I usually go OEM for these kinds of parts but are there higher quality aftermarket parts available?

AC compressors are not cheap! lol Umm i dont know of any good brands nor of heard anything good about the aftermarket ones. people say the compressors on ebay sound like diesel motors.

On the replaced compressors, youve added oil to them once you got it correct? Sounds like a dumb question but you never know..

Yep we added oil every time. I think We may have lost our charge and when it was taken in oil was not added when the repair was made.

That's pure conjecture. I'm just guessing that may have happened.

Anymore with all the vehicles we have and have gone through I can't remember all the parts that were changed on the system of this vehicle. But for some reason all the compressors rings a bell. Makes me feel a little queasy. LOL.

unknown at this time.
new or remaned are available from O-reily's at $130-170 but are murrays and don't know about warranty. But Yes delcos would be the better choice. I just don't see anybody selling them that much anymore.

haha. Ive tried rebuilding my ac compressor. Worked for about a week until the front and rear seals blew out like you described.

Grab a junkyard one with a warranty then take back your old one and ram it in there face for a refund. ha
