I am needing to transport my 2008 Tahoe from West Virginia to Texas. Has anybody been through this process and who did you use? the choices seem overwhelming and the chance of encountering a scam seems very real. Any advice will help..

I can't remember cost. I had them ship the Denali when I bought it from PA to MO it was quick, I think it took 3 days. If I remember you can ask for a free quote on their site they respond pretty quick.

I have used U-Ship many times with no problem at all. We used them to transport many Corvettes over the years.

I hate U-Ship, it's mostly brokers now, you never know who you are going to get. Brokers take their $200 off the top, and put your load out for all drivers to see. Too low, and your car is going to sit for a while.

I buy, fix, and sell classic cars, usually one or two a year. I use UnitedRoad.com pretty much exclusively. You can get a quote on their website with no pressure. I have found them to be the best at actually getting the car picked up and delivered in a timely matter. They own their own trucks, do drug testing, and their trucks have always been the best I've seen. If you call them after you have your quote, they may be able to knock a little more off

I've seen a lot of trucks falling apart, leaking oil out of the hydraulics all over my street, drivers on drugs etc...

I usually ship at least one vehicle per year with UShip and I have yet to have an issue. At least they are all vetted for insurance, etc. While most are brokers, I have had owner operators do quite a few deliveries for me. The last guy actually lived in my hometown and was about to deadhead it back from Austin. I got an 09 Tahoe shipped from Austin to Portland for $900 in 4 days. I have yet to have anyone else come close to UShip prices.

Even better: Sioux City, IA to Camas WA in 3 days for $750. I couldn't believe it when he showed up.
