05 Yukon with Bose. I installed a rp5-gm11 with my aftermarket head unit. Question is on the rp5 module it has two plug points for the speakers amplified and non amplified, both work, when plugged in on the non amplified it’s louder than amplified. Does it really matter which I plug it in to? On the amplified plug it doesn’t have good connection, on the non amplified it has good connection... any input?

AFAIK all BOSE systems have some external amp. That being said, the way this sounds like it’s working, is it will either pass through the other signal, using your factory amp (amplified), or bypass the factory amp, using the amplification in your HU, or standalone amp(s). If it sounds better without the factory amp (likely), I’d go with that especially if you have any additional amps installed. May want to verify all speakers are working as you expect though, since you may lose the rear tweets for example. Most people don’t seem to care much about those, in favor of more power to the main speakers.

ETA: when you say it doesn’t have a good connection on the amplified port, it may also be that you’re double-amplifying the signal, through the HU, and then to the factory Bose, which would sound like crap. Not sure what you’re hearing though.

I put it in the non amplified port, for whatever reason the amplified port has a really bad connection just didn’t seat right I guess or the adapter is just cheap

Just went through the same thing. Sounds much better in the non-amplified port

Agreed, besides I’ll be pulling all of my aftermarket amps and speakers from my 98 Yukon and putting it in this one since my 98 is my camping rig, don’t need a great system out in the woods anyway

Do you think maybe I can bypass the wiring inputs going into the pac module without it affecting usability??

Sorry, not sure. Are you talking about being able to use the camera while driving?.. all I did was plug in the new harness from Crutchfield. I cheated. Lol. All I know about bypassing the factory modules relate to bypassing the factory amp, which is also fairly easy, especially with a metra 70-2002. (Still requires moving those wires around though)

No not the factory ones the pac harness and module, I really dont think it would be an issue since it goes straight into the factory harness but not sure, efff it I’ll try and see what happens, if anything I’ll redo it back into the pac harness
