Yep, this thing, it's good insurance. And I know it's too late now, but it's good to have an empty tank because that thing is HEAVY.

he could empty his tank spring clean it install it and refill with new gas afterwards from gas cans.

This, this is true. I would recommend that. Get all the gritty crud out of there to avoid it potentially messing up a new pump.

Well lucky for me, when the pump went out there was not very much gas in it at all. So it wasnt TOO heavy atleast. I couldnt imagine this huge tank even half full and trying to move it around or drop it down.

It would weigh over 200 lbs full... just in gas, much less everything else that goes with it.
