Which is better 2wd or 4wd ??

What is better for power/ racing 2wd or 4wd?

Reason im asking is when im on 2wd i hold the brake and push a lil gas to build up the rpms an my right wheel starts burning out and all i end up doing is burning out when i let go of the brake, but if i just punch it both rear wheels burnout but not to the point where i lose control...

An with 4wd drive i lunch like crazy and i feel the power more but im still not sure which is better cause i heard from some ppl you lose hp/trq on 4wd

4 wheel, like AWD....makes it no good to make a ton of power and not get it to the ground...
