So over this past week I've noticed a whining sound coming from under the hood. And it speeds up as the RPMs do. And is silent at idle. So I can't really tell with it being silent at idle. Any ideas?

Probably the belt. Or also the alternator or ac compressor

Lol supercharger..... oh how I wish.

And I'm thinking either alternator or belt. I know the belt has some cracks in it. And the alternator doesn't charge properly. Holds steady at about 13.5.

mine stays at 12-14 steady (12 if i have the stereo on and 13 or so when my electric fans kick on 14 when im just driving with no fans or stereo on) If yours is pulling 13.5 your fine.

Is there any harm in the belt breaking? Just don't want it to happen and have a domino effect
