I have a white tahoe that the previous owner had a chrome grille guard on it. Should I stay with chrome or go with black? Either bull bar, grille guard, or ranch hand? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Pics please. I think it depends on the look you want and your needs. It's totally up to you. As for me, I like the black or color-matched bull bar look with lights.
I think if you debugged it and put a black bull bar (the nice westin one) and black sidesteps it would look really nice, if thats the look you're going for.
But please no chrome. The most I like on a hoe is bumpers, wheels, maybe a small bar and sidesteps. A whole huge ranch hand in chrome is a no no!
I agree, it's all about the look you're going for. Do you want added protection or just looks? Me personally, I have always liked the rugged, off road, heavy duty looks. I will probably be looking into a ranch hand style grille guard for mine eventually. Whatever you do, IMO, get rid of that chrome!
I was only speaking on my personal opinion. Once I saw your hoe, I was amazed at how simple the mods are and yet made it look great, as is. Whatever you do just don't go overboard with chrome. That's if you're still doing chrome...
IMO not at all, mine even had mounts for a set of aux lights. (See pic in my sig). Its also pretty strong, I used it a lot during the snow storm last winter to push stranded cars. The only downside is that you use your tow hooks.
