So I've noticed this before but finally got some good pics of the bumps right behind the rear tires. I stopped by at the dealership and the tech said those are the mounting points for the bumper. I clearly see three bumps on the drivers side but just one on the passenger side. The tech said he will need to speak to his manager and can't make a determination on what they will do. I 100% do not want it to be sanded/painted. He said they might try to hit it with a heat gun and see if they smooth out. In my opinion, that's ok but if it doesn't work, the entire bumper cover should be replaced. I have to bring it in on 12/14 for an oil change and the recall and will see what they say/do then. The truck has less than 5k on it and is 6 months old.

Anyone else have this issue? What'd you do?

Also just hit the curb and scratched one of the 22's....mother €%#~*+

I don't notice anything like that on either side of the rear bumper on my Tahoe.

I don't have any bumps on my bumper. However I'm responding to your post about your wheel. My wife also hit the curb but she denies it to this day. Just take it to a wheel shop and they will buff it out. Good luck with your bumper.

I don't have any bumps on either side. I would definitely have them replace the bumper if the heat gun doesn't work.

Yep, that's what I'm going to tell them. In actuality, it's not a problem with the paint but the plastic bumper so defly no sanding or re painting. I had the interior plastic on my 2002 get stress marks (not sure what it's really called but if you bend plastic the color changes) and they replaced that once upon a time.

No bumps on our 2016 LTZ. Good luck, hopefully they take care of you.
