AC Delco, which is owned by GM
they are often rebuilt by almost anyone though and there are probably others out there like hitachi, etc who is often contracted by gm anyway
parts come from all over the world

I distinctly remember the new 6.2 Delco Gold did not look like the 'Remy' starter pictured, but looked exactly like the Wai Global.
If I had to do it again, I'd probably just order the Wai Global... (Just because cheap, and it's easy enough to replace)

Installed the 6.2 starter for a '12 yukon. Fits great, bigger motor goes in just as easy.
Price for the 6.2 AC Delco gold was the same as a new 1.0 or 1.4kW starter..
Two wires going from solenoid to starter. Not twice as thick, copper vs original stainless wire.

Aluminum body had I believe a '173' paint mark, guessing it's factory 173. Same marking on the remy starter I need to return..
