easy guys att is losing the iphone contract and im sure version will get it next then hopefully sprint, (well unless att buys the contract again withch they prolly wont because it will be mad expensive and will prolly boost the pice of the iphone,(witch it doesnt need to get higher in cost))
I can't get into specifics due to confidentiality agreements, but this is not true. At least not yet. Do a Google on "iPhone Verizon" and you'll see that there are rumors, nothing specific. Everything right now points to "ain't happening", especially with Verizon's HUGE anti-iPhone-centric ad campaign for the Droid.
If it does come to Vz, it'll be smaller...the CDMA prototypes are seen with a 2.8" screen compared to the 3.5" screen on the 3GS...leading to complaints about the screen. The iPhone 3Gs is capable of 7.2Mbps downloads, but Verizon's network is not capable of that. Verizon's data network is based on EVDO technology, which as of revision B of the EVDO standard has a MAX data rate of 4.9Mbps. This will lead to the same complaints about download speed as there are against AT&T right now. They are planning to move to LTE, which is basically 4G in layman's terms, but in order to do that they have to deploy all new equipment. With Verizon spending so much on FiOS in the Northeast, and falling behind on that deployment due to capital constraints, rest assured that they will not be able to afford to mass upgrade their network to LTE. (Layman's terms: Vz has a 4.8L in their Tahoe right now, and would need to rip it out to put a 6.0 in to get any more speed.)
Bottom line: Even if the iPhone does make it's way to Verizon, it won't perform the same.
One last note: With the release of Windows Mobile 6.5, Microsoft has specified that any phone running 6.5 MUST have a 3.5" headphone jack, or support one thru an adapter. This is big for me at least, as it means I can play online music sources through my phone with a simple 3.5" connector. If you have an aux in, you can use your phone as an mp3 player for your radio, as well as playing Siruis online, Pandora, etc....
NOW, let's get off the iPhone discussion and back to the Smart Start discussion, shall we?
