Wierd shifting

Hey all, new to site and yukons, but not new to forums. I bought this 08 Yukon Denali 6.2 a few months back. Tgis things shifts all over the place. I am getting rough downshifts to pass, and sometimes quick shidts between 2 then 3 to 4 quickly on an easy peddle. I have no codes on computer so I am leaning towards the peddle position sensor. Unless you can have a bad tps and no codes, also my manual up and down does nothing when in manual. Any help would ve awesome

My new-to-me 2012 Denali with 99k miles behaves similarly. Between the drive-by-wire, displacement-on-demand and torque control, there's so much electronic wizardry going on, I don't know if this is normal or not. Curious to see what other's have to say.

I am just amazed that there is an actual peddle position sensor as well as a throttle position sensor. Seems tgeir would be a code or something

The reason for 2 sensors is the Drive by wire... the butterfly in the throttle-body isn't physically connected to the pedal at all, it's driven electrically. Push the pedal, there is a sensor that tells it the throttle position you're calling for. The PCM then sends signals to an actuator that moves the butterfly, and the TPS gives feedback to the PCM as to where it actually is so the PCM can make corrections if necessary or throw a code if it's trying to move but won't move.

As for the shifting I don't know. Just to note, you're in the 2000-2006 model year subforum. You may get better response asking this is the 2007-2014 model year subforum. I'm not griping, just pointing out that you may not get the best responses in here because not all of us have experience with the newer models.

you might check your MAF sensor, try cleaning it and see if it make any difference, the spray is like $3 at almost any autoparts store, if the maf is goofy it can cause all kinds of weird stuff with idle/acceleration & shifting. just my .02
