Wierd smell from ac vent!!!

Dude, I just got back from running an errand and I noticed a wierd smell in the inside of the yukon. So I decided to investigate and I found a weird almost burning type smell coming from ONLY the center a/c vent next to the radio.... The other vents had no smell.


Has anyone had this before?

I'm gonna pull the dash apart when I get a chance and check the radio wires and any other wires behind the radio, but though I might check to see If anyone else has had this similar problem before?

Well... I figured out the smell coming form the ac vent! It is the ac controls, when they get hot they put out a burning smell and it only seeps through the center ac vent!!!


Guess thats what you get when you buy a 12 yo truck!

Anyone have any ideas besides ebay to get them?

My wife smelled a bad smell in our Yukon...long story short...the RCA jack on the headunit fell down and shorted out part of the circuit board causing almost no heat at all...hope you don't have to go through that...had to get a new HVAC off ebay

Check LMC for the part. THey are cheap so is ebay!

i got one at a junk yard for 125 used and they wanted like almost 300 for a new one! fuckn joke
