My wife just came in to advise that on her 2000 Yukon SLT that unlike previous days, she would unlock the door by key, and as she opened the rear cargo door, or even passage through the passenger side door(drivers door key hole was replaced, but no spare key provided to us), the alarm would go off until she put her key into the ignition.

I did notice as I got into the car that her "Security" light flashes on and off when I asked her to lock me in the car and then try to open it from outside, but she maintains that it always has but only now is the horn actually going off....hmmmm

Now this has only been happening today, and it's driving her crazy considering she does dog-walking and has to drive to different clients during the day and the alarm's been going off each time she has to get into her car.

Her keyfob was rendered ineffective weeks ago because of a dead battery, apparently she's been too busy to change it...

Anyone know what might be happening, or how I can disable the security? Can a simple battery disconnect and reconnect do the trick or can it be done with the key in the ignition and you press the throttle down so many times to reset? Can I pull a wire somewhere to temporarily disconnect the alarm?

No worries, I fixed the problem.

I took the horn relay and fuse out. Popped them back in again and it seemed to reset it I guess. No more errant alarms.
