I have the MobilePro 800/1900 which I use for the wireless modem in my house. I definitely boosts the signal strength to its fullest (like -56dBm, IIRC), however My data transfer rate doesnt change much with it. With it off, I'll can get about a max of 1.9mb/s, with it on, I may see 2.0mb/s. Im not sure if these boosters are meant for data transfer, but I feel I wasted money on mine.
On the other hand, my dad has pretty high end one (not sure of the model #) on his sailboat, and he said it allowed him about 15 more miles of offshore signal strength.
