A picture posted of our 2008 Tahoe windshield pillar and I am looking to find out where the actual air bags noted above the pillar covers are located. Are they above the pillars in the headliner where noted or below in the pillars?

And a followup, the bases of the pillar covers appear to be free of the ends of the frontmost narrower dash cover panel so can I expect to be able to remove the dash cover panel without messing with the pillar covers?
The pillar covers and the panel appear to butt against each other,

Yes there is a lip on the defroster panel. Just remove the A pillar trims.
Airbag is along the side window edge.

Pillar covers have to come off to remove the dash trim and air bags are inside behind the pillar covers and all along the roof from front to rear doors

So does the electrical system need to be drained down because of the proximity of the air bags?
