I have a problem with my wipers that if I keep the fuse in place the wipers will stay in the on position regardless of where the selector switch is on. I can select speeds but if it's in the off position, it will remain steadily on. Currently I just keep the fuse out of the socket so the wipers stay off. What could be the issue? Do I have to get a new wiper motor?

Ignition power is sent to the pulse board when you turn on the ignition, so if the board is shorted ON you will get this condition. This is the most common thing and it is mounted on top of the wiper motor, I think you can get them seperate from the motor. The pulse board is the brains so it tells the motor what to do.

I had the same problem with an s10. We replaced out the wiper motor and never had a problem since then so I assume that was it but it could be what the post above stated...

Yeah but to put the pulse board in takes 5 min.. and is the brains! if the wiper motor works back and forth the motor is good. just replace the pulse board --really easy...
