Regular S7 doesn't work well in 2015... after about 5-10 times relocating it finally worked but overall useless.

Same here, just got a 2016 Denali, and using S7. I found on GMC site that Samsung S6 Edge is supported, I have both devices and neither work. I'm going to escalate back to the dealer owner (friend of a friend) and see if we can get some attention to this. Side, note were you able to get Android Auto working? No luck for me, although the sales guy said there was a fw update needed that they haven't received yet, but when I researched GMC site, it says 2016 supports it.

Turn the phone around backwards in the cradle. Ear part towards back.

My s6 edge want very consistent, but with it in the cradle backwards works everytime

I have made several trips to my dealer re: wireless charging. My phone is a Galaxy S7. Charging cycles several times through on/off and then stops. With a salesman's S6 in my 2016 Tahoe, charging works just fine. Service manager recorded video to forward to Chevy.

As for Android Auto, I have had the AA upgrade installed in the Tahoe, but when I plug the phone into a USB port with the AA app running on the phone, the phone does not recognize the Tahoe. Not sure what the missing link is.

I tried backwards and so many different positions and none of them worked. Then one day while driving I put the phone onto the cover for no reason then I heard that charging sound and it wasn't even fully on the pad. I couldn't duplicate this as hard as I've tried. This is a very poor implementation of wireless charging.

Ok, this is turns out to be as simple as the placement of the charging dock is too far back. If you place the phone, just over the back lip of the pad, you'll notice that it recognizes the phone (charging icon on the car display), but then it goes away as it doesn't have a close enough connection. I took the bottom of the center console lid and removed the charge plate, put the S7 edge on it and bingo, charges perfectly. GM just needs to change the placement to have it come forward by less than an inch. It would be easy enough to do this yourself if you were adventurous, it would require grinding down a bit of plastic and then glueing it in place. The other potential option would be to spin the rubber mat 180 degrees. It's held in place by a handful of screws from the bottom of the console. (By the way, the bottom of the console pops off easily with pry tool, just like a dash cover plate would.) You'd need cut off the little nub on the rubber pad that helps keep it in place, then bolt everything back and it should give you enough room in the back to get a good connection (I didn't try this, but it might be worth investigating as an option) I'm going to stick with USB fast charging via cig lighter adapter from Anker....kind of a bummer not to have the option to use wireless charging though.

Received an update from Android today and wondered if that, magically, would fix the issue. In one instance with the phone on the charging mat before starting the engine, the phone stayed in charging mode until I stopped the Tahoe a few minutes later. No repetition of that since. Oh well. Did not try the Android Auto which is another non-happening event.

I used a carefully cut piece of wood to keep my S6 Edge in the sweet spot of the charger.

I upgraded to the S7 Edge and was disappointed to see that it doesn't work.

GM likely used a single coil only, making for a very small sweet spot that doesn't align at all with the S7.

Too bad, I really enjoyed wireless charging with my S6.
