GM had the charger in the center console as far back as 2017 I think...we've always been mid level trim buyers and i think the 2017 SLT had it in the console (think it was a 17). when we swapped out and bought a 2019, it didn't have it in the console - believe it was only available on a Denali back then....the "tray" area isnt very convenient for sure

as far as fitment, the wife's iphone 6/7/8 plus wouldn't fit in the center console but whatever android I had back then did.

Purchased my Yukon Denali a few weeks ago and have only used the charger once. IMO the location in the storage tray is not very useable at all. For one thing I think it sits too deep in the tray and then takes up any storage space needed. It wouldn't make much difference to me if I didn't have it, can always use a USB cable and get a much faster charge.

Those of you in the market or have orders in check this out;

No plan to retrofit!
Great. Just got word that the Yukon I ordered on December 17, 2021 is to be built December 12th. Almost an entire year. A little curious how much truck will show up.

Well at least now you're gonna get the wireless charging...it's back on as of Nov. 21!

Thanks for posting this. Does anyone know how this works if you already have an order in at the "3000" status and it was during the time of the constraint? If the vehicle had the "00C" RPO code in their order (Not equipped with wireless charging), will it stay that way even though my vehicle won't get built until January, 2023? I've kind of heard this feature doesn't work all that great for people anyway but still would prefer to have it.

Once again…..until the design and programmers figure out a location for the charging pad that does not endanger the pad, or phone……i would rather have the $75 credit. Placing the charging pad in a wide open compartment is stupid. I can think of about half dozen ways for the pad, phone or both to get damaged….and that’s just getting into the vehicle. The open area should be a storage compartment as it was intended. Sorry just telling it like it is and location is more of a danger than convenience.

First few ways for damage include moisture intrusion, metal objects causing short out or extreme scenario…....short circuit and fire. Jeep has the same layout but has a hinged lid to at least better protect the phone while charging.

I have the wireless charging in my 22 Yukon Denali, Phone has a slim otter box case and the charger is garbage. clicks on and off all the time even if it's straight highway driving.
I was happy to have the option on the truck but very disappointed with the performance of it.
