Wiring a dash cam

Has anyone successfully wired their dash cam to the overhead console on a 2013 GMC Yukon Denali?
I don't want to use my cigar lighter, I would rather have it connected to the overhead console so I can conceal the power wire. Also, I want the camera to power off when the engine shuts off, leaving it on will drain the battery in two or three days.

i bought a 12v to 5v usb adapter off of ebay they come with about 10' of wire, plenty to patch it into accessory power down at the drivers kick panel then ran the wire up the pillar and under the headliner to the right side of the mirror, don't mount it on the drivers side of mirror it will block the ambient light sensor. If your dashcam runs off of straight 12v then you can just patch into the mirror harness (middle pink wire is positive, black corner wire is negative)

Thank you for responding.I have purchased a 12v to 5v I have purchawith USB to drop the voltage If I patch to the Mirror harness pink wire will the power shut off with the engine? I sometimes leave my car at the airport parking lot for a week or two. In the past, I've come back to a dead battery
