Pffftt..... you guys are so funny......I can't tell if your serious or not.....
Every vehicle sold in Canada has a block heater. It's factory. I thought they were standard and not even an option. We even have aftermarket body matched color end plugs, because who wants a black electrical plug sticking the front of your new red car, when you can have a matching red one.
Most of us have the outlets on timers so that they don't run overnight and jack up the electric bill... Two hours before going to work is usually sufficient up to -20c. Below that and I go 4 hours.
Some guys further up north than me install 120v ceramic heaters in the cab and also run them on the same timer.
