Ok, I've only had my 08 Yukon Denali for 6 weeks. This is the second time in the shop. It has 38k miles now. First time, transmission leak, they replace seal where tranny and drive shaft meet up. However, it was still slipping, so I checked the fluid levels, 1 qt low. I wonder why after replacing seal that was leaking why they would not top it off. Nothing was noted on service sheet that they added any, just replace seal part. Still, transmission is all over the place. Took it in last night, service guy drove it (2/10 mile), seems fine to me but I'll go ahead and look at it. I told him there has to be something wrong with it! Well today, got a call. Sure enough he talked to the tech and there is some sort of service bulletin on some 2/3 seals internal that cause internal leaking? Really, why would he not know about this? I also told him that it was really idleing rough. When sitting instead of staying at 500 rpm it would bobble up and down between 800 and 300, feeling like it was going to die. I told him I had cleaned to MAF sensor and put some injector cleaner in there (he did not seem to like that I did this?). Well there ya go, he said, that will cause the issue. I'm like WTF, really? And how long is this going to last? Crickets.................

He said to day they can hook it up to the dio tool but it would cost $99, just to start and go from there. Right now it is not showing any check engine or warning lights so I told him to hold off and we'll see how it goes.

Just pisses me off that when you say you have a transmission issue the first thing they would do is see if there are any service bulletins or anything else that might cause issue, or at least open it up and take some kind of look. If this does not fix it I guess I'll go to some trans shop and see what they say.

Are you not under warranty????

You should have a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty???

Yes, but I was told this does not fall under that warranty, that is just the power train, not the MAF, throttle body, etc.

I was speaking of the transmission issues.

The 5 year 100,000 mile warranty covers

■Case
■All internal lubricated parts
■Torque converter
■Transfer case
■Transmission/transaxle mounts, seals and gaskets
