You just can't make this crap up.......what the hell is going on lately? I went to pick up the truck after work, when the shop owner saw me he suddenly disappeared. I thought he went to get my key's but it seems the guy who worked on the truck brought them to me. He tells me that they replaced the rear expansion valve. When I told him that "the shop" changed it less then 2 months ago. He asked me "did Tommy" (the shop owner) know that?? Now im thinking what else didnt they replace. The valve looks old imo not something that is 2 months old. I waited there a few minutes then left in disgust.

The a/c was still not as good as it was on monday when I first picked up the truck. I wound up stopping at Pep boys so they can put guages on it. They evacuated, vaccumed and recharged 3 times. First 2.5, then 2.75, then 3.5lbs and the noisy compressor did not have any impact on pressures.

Low side was near 60lbs and high side was 210lbs. (@ idle) Each time the interior temp did not change.

So now I have to return the compressor and get a replacement. I am really curious to see if the orifice tube is in the rite location?? For some reason this is bothering me.

Im so done, im ready to throw someone throu a effen wall this is totally ridiculous.

I found someone who allegedly specializes in a/c's. Allegedly they work on everything from compact cars to ****** tractor trailers to ice cream trucks. Gonna get the new compressor and have them put it in.

Do I need to replace the accumulator and orifice again? (if so this would be the 3rd time in 2 months)

If the current compressor has no dump debris in the system then keep the other parts. But those number look like a weak compressor or a a fixed or variable orifice that is flowing more then usually.

Sorry to hear it still not right.

Dude, you need to get someone that knows what they are doing to look at that truck. Why would pep boys evac and recharge 3 times? Did they think that it would magically start working? What's with the noisy compressor now? Where do you live? When you get someone that knows what they are doing, they can put on a set of gauges, and tell you what the problem is instead of just guessing and evac and filling with freon multiple times.

I know that, hopefully this new a/c shop I found can finally put this to bed. Its unbelievable that not one person I know can recommend a good shop.

The first time the recharged they said "something was not rite". So he did it again. Same thing, then finally the last time the pressures were the same with all three differant amounts of freon that he actually got a set of regular guages (not the machine) to verify. They put it through warranty so as long as they were trying to get it rite I dont care if he did it 50 times. But enough is enough, I wasted so much time and money that im mentally and physically shot.

Hopefully I get the new compressor this week and I can go see this new guy on saturday. Again I wish someone could recommend someone. I know someone in pretty much in every field from race tranny's, cages, engine builders and no one can recommend anyone. Its trully amazing!

Because no one makes an effort to know about A/C systems and they just assume a machine is doing what is right and should not question it. and make money off of it while they can. Nobody really gets in there with gauge or pumps with manual controls or temp or/hygrometers or other analyzers to perfect there work.

That's the way it seems with many technical fields. You get people with all the fancy training and degrees, and they are nothing but book smart. Throw them a problem that isn't in the book, and they are lost, so they keep doing what they know, and hope the problem just goes away. Ya gotta find an "old" guy that actually knows what all the parts do, and why they do it, and what happens when one of those parts is faulty. Where do you live?

Im in Queens NY, I feel like I live on the moon! I should have to be having a hard time choosing whom I want to deal with rather then pulling teeth trying to find someone. JMO
