I was going to sell my 09 6.2L Tahoe LTZ and buy a Denali, but after driving the new Denali, I decided I liked the 09 better.. Seems more sporty and not as electronic.. So, I pulled it off the sales block.. Gonna make it look like GIB's beautiful Suburban with the smooth roof and debadged with a little more aggressive exhaust...

Now I am in another dilemma, I have a 2014 Tahoe LS that I use as a company car/daily driver and am thinking about selling it and just keeping the 09 & the 07 GMC Pickup.

So, I start looking around for something else that I think I would like to drive and I cannot find anything I would rather have than the 2014 Tahoe.

I think I am getting senile as I keep going in circles.. I sold my restored Scout and my boat, so have a pocket full of cash to do something else, but it is really getting hard for me to work on my cars like I have all my life..

With all that blather, I have decided to keep the 09 as that gives me my hot rod fix, but am still confused as what to do about a daily driver.. the GMC has 124000 on it and I just use it to haul trailers and when I have to deliver some parts to a muddy location.

Plus I really like the 14 Tahoe for a daily driver as it gets great mileage and is pretty peppy...

So, you young guys help an old man out!!

Would you keep the 14 Tahoe or sell it and take the cash from the Scout & Boat & Tahoe and buy/build a neat old 67-75 Pickup?? (whih is getting harder to do by myself)

As I said, I feel like a 16 year old girl trying to buy the RIGHT dress for a prom..

Any and all input appreciated... :jester::hmmm2:

I would:
sell it and take the cash from the Scout & Boat & Tahoe and buy/build a neat old 67-75

6.2l 6l80e in that would be nice.

Definitely would take the cash and invest/build a older model vehicle. Car/truck or whatever you decide id build me a older hotrod with all the modern comfort features and drivetrain

I hear you on the 2015s. I sold my 2015 Tahoe LS and upgraded to an 07 Escalade. Much nicer vehicle. The new Tahoe had weird issues that bugged me. Wasn't as roomy inside, headlights were bad, too many electronics, lift gate was too tall, etc.

403hp is fun too.

If I were in your shoes I'd get a 47-55 Chevy truck. I also drive a rock crawler around town but you sold your scout. Guess you don't like convertible 4x4s?

Convertible 4 X $'s

I sold the Scout as I got an offer I could not refuse..

Plus, if i do an old truck, it will probably be a Blazer or Jimmy, 1969-1975 with a late model engine & tranny.. I live 40 miles from the Gulf and like to cruise around the bay area..

I am leaning this way and am on the lookout for an early Blazer or Jimmy. I have built a 72 Jimmy and a 90 Blazer and really like the room and parts availability over the Scout.. did 4 of those..

I have had a 54, 56 & 57 pickup and sold all of them as I did not like them as much as I thought I would.. too small cab.. I think I am really a SUV guy..

Here is a pic of the Jimmy & Blazer.. & the Scout I just sold..

Anybody know of a 69-75 K5, let me know..

Thanks for the feedback,

I have a c10 with an ls swap. Its great to drive around but isn't roomy enough for me, nor would I want to drive it very far, its just not comfy to me. I would much rather have a crew version of something newer. maybe 05-07 ccsb

Decision Made, Thanks for the Input

Well, I looked at all the available K5's within 500 miles and figured out a cost to build it like I would want it.

Then I drove a buddies redone 75 K5 with a 5.3LS & 4L65, vintage air and new seats and great interior.. 4" lift and nice tires and wheels..

Then I drove my 2014 Tahoe LS Texas Edition and my decision was made..

I am keeping the 2009 Tahoe 6.2L LTZ to customize and hotrod a little, the 2007 GMC to tow the tractor and stuff and the 2014 Tahoe for a daily driver.

I am going to put a better exhaust on the 2014, so what do you guys like better, the Corsa Sport, Borla or Magnaflow.,. NO flowmasters!!

I love the old stuff and have built and owned many in my life, but at my age and it getting just too damned hard to do it myself, I have decided to go the comfy way and still have a little performance.. the 09 with the 6.2 will get pretty sporty and I am going to get it tuned either by Nelson or Blackbear if they ever come back to Texas..

Thanks for the help,

Thirdcoast
