A lot of nice trucks here! I've got an 05' yukon XL Denali. So i recently just bought a 32' travel trailer camper. Was a spur of the moment thing. Was out and about with my flatbed tow truck and just decided to buy one.. Pulled good with the tow truck! Worried about the Yukon tho. Any recommendations on where to get some good bags for the rear end?

Get a 2500, it has rear leaf springs. Much more stable for towing that length.

A good solid bar. Not the chains. Stabilizer sway hitch will make a world of difference in the squat factor innthe rear end. I think my stabilizer hitch raised the rear about 3" compared to not having one. And keeps my truck and rig level. Now it does take some playing in a flat open parking lot to get the hitch setup. But man it makes worlds of difference in the tow.

As far as bags on a 1500 the only option that you have is the helper bags that go in the coils which are 1,000# cap. The next option is a air ride rear and you replace the coils with heavy duty air bags. A couple companies make these kits. You are looking at around a grand in parts including auto level, tank, compressor and bags. It is not a terribly hard install.

Your best option for that HuGE of a wiggle wagon is to go with a 2500 XL or burban with the leaf spring rear and greater tow capacity frame. You are also able to add 5k helper bags for a couple hundred on a manual fill setup of 6-800 area with compressor.

My compressor is shot, so I changed my shocks to manually be filled. Also ordered the airlift 1000 kit. The bags that go into the springs. Hopefully that will remove that wicked squat!

You could upgrade to a higher work load stabilizer hitch. I feel that you should be able to get her more level. The 1k bags will help some stiffen the rear

The bags will level it out, my old Yukon had them and when I hooked up my 6k boat they did great!

Took your advice. Traded the Denali in for a yukon xl 2500 with the 8.1 and a allison that's only got 15k miles on it still under warranty.

Awesome. You made the right choice. Love the color and the GMC look.

Now to take that bad boy to the next level you should really look into doing the DMAX/Allison swap. It is really not that expensive to do on your year model and you will love it. Mine is a 2005 with a 2007 LBZ Dmax and the Allison 6 speed, heavy duty transfer case and 12.5 HD rear end. Go check out the Diesel Place Forum under the Frankenstein heading. Lots of cool Dmax suburbans.

Here are some pics. One getting ready to work and a poser shot with its new wheels and HD tow mirrors, and a good look at that sewer pipe exhaust.

Your truck is gorgeous! I'd love to make mine into a DuraBurb . I do miss the Denali already but this 3/4ton is pretty amazing.

Thanks.

It didn't take you long to get the HD tow mirrors on. I love the parabolic.

Another item that really changed my towing experience was a Hensly Arrow Hitch system. It is really a sway "elimination" hitch with load distribution, its a little pricy but when it comes to tow safety with the wife and three kids its a small price. I picked up a used one $1000.
