Sorry for the loss, thank God you're wife's OK. All over a car? what a joke. We don't have many car jackings here anymore, it's basically the same charge as murder at this point in NJ. It was so bad in the Newark area in the early 90's they beefed up the sentence and it practically stopped cold.. Curious about the OnStar as well? Did the police mention it once they were told it was a GM? I'm sure you and your wife wouldn't think of it that quick but a trained professional should have imo.

Thanks again for all of the kind words everyone.

Not to sound dumb or anything but I guess its so ******* us because Iwaslowrs Kon is right at the top of the website page banner on the right, gonna be hard to forget while seeing that there everyday!

I'm going to do my best to enjoy it being there as long as it is there... Good times and ENDLESS APPRECIATION!!!!! Kinda sentimental now.

We did have Onstar service, but for phone services only... and they could not assist with locating or disabling it. To be honest, if it had been disabled at any point(anti carjack feature or otherwise) the suspects could have returned and proceeded to do a drive by shooting and/or kidnapped any of my in-laws NEITHER OF WHICH IS WORTH IT.

Chad..

Just curious, the news reports said another Kon was also car jacked off Lamar. Did you happen to hear any other details on that one. Was it also hooked up or maybe a stock one? Wonder if that one was found yet and in what kind of condition.

I heard that we were the first victims but don't have any other details besides both of them were White Yukons. The Detective mentioned that one had been recovered but was burnt extremely bad. Being such we requested to see the one that had been recovered and as we approached the area where "it" had been parked in the impound yard... it became apparent that the blackened charred lifeless skeleton that appeared to once be an SUV was the one that had been slightly spoiled by me for it's short lived life. There was no question, it was obvious that the wheels are all that the suspect(s) were after.

To answer some more questions, I was not there. My wife and I had been hosting for some family members and they needed a ride back across town. To prevent any unsafe conditions (more than one person per seatbelt) I decided to stay home. Our other vehicle can only seat five, uncomfortably at that. As usual my eyes gleamed as she rode away, in disbelief that I have been blessed with such beauty surrounding my life both in family and materialisticly. It was not uncommon for me to not drive the Yukon, in fact I would not even have the Yukon without my wife's help and everlasting support. Though sometimes reluctant with my dreams she has always proudly applauded the outcome. She would even beg me to take the Yukon because she claimed to be spoiled by the XM radio, and I would never not let her drive it- IT WAS OUR YUKON.

We often frequented the part of town and surrounding area's where this incident occurred. Contrary to some belief, this was only blocks from the famous 6th Street (three blocks west of it). Every since, as well as before, the wheels were installed I had been through this area and even worse areas in the city. Perhaps all the broken necks as we passed had less than positive intentions. Who will ever know....

To those who ask "Was everything insured?" Yes. Well the truck and the wheel/tire package at least.

And "What are the new plans?"

still unknown...

Thanks again for all the support through these hard times everyone.

I hope none of you ever have to go through this. Things could have been much worse! I still have my wife (cough best friend ever) and all of my in-laws not only alive but, UNINJURED!

If I had been present when the carjacking occurred who knows how bad things could have turned out.

I agree with that 100%. You most likely would have been in such rage and hate and probably done something that could have gotten someone hurt. Not trying to be a ******* but im pretty sure most guys instinct would be to protect there wife and anyone else and fight back.

Which could have led to bad things....

All in all. Your truck is gone yea, But. Your left with a healthy wife and your family members are all okay. And what could be more important than that?

Were all glad everyones safe man, Glad you decided to keep us posted to. Way to be.

Just get that money and get on with the new creation :Handshake:

Keep your head up man.

Setting the truck ablaze really shows their hatred and envy. There really was no need for those actions. Taking the wheels and audio/video is one thing but jeez going commando is another. I'm just ranting but looking at those pics really gets me upset.

actually, it is common practice, and has nothing to do with hate nor envy.

A torched vehicle means no prints, no DNA, etc.

almost completely eliminates any chance of getting caught and of being tied to other thefts if they ever are caught.

they probably will not sell the rims locally, but you can always craigseek 26x10 and chevy see what turns up, as well as ebay etc. More than likely they have a buyer already, or are going to sit on them for 6 months.

they just busted a huge chop shop + stolen car parts ring here last week, funneling parts and funds back to the mexican cartels.
