I would think you have a loose baffle inside your gas tank. The baffle normally keeps the gas from sloshing around (like forward when you brake). Essentially, when you are braking, the gas is moving away from the fuel pump, causing the truck to stall.

I'd recommend keeping the tank above 1/4 full. It's not good to starve the fuel pump of fuel, as the fuel actually keeps the pump cool.

Could it be a fuel pump issue?

To the best of my knodlege this is the original fuel pump in this system i think the bafle story can be a problem and is there any other ideas and i dont think its the pumps because it would do it all the time not only under a 1/4 thank???

unknown at this time.
the g-force is shifting the fuel away from the pump when braking or turning and you must be doing it hard for it to stall that easy. Just keep more fuel in the tank and you will be fine. There is the possiblity that you have a air gap break near the bottom of your pump assy that would suck air below a certain level and makes it hard to mantain suction into the pump.

There is a plastic box around the fuel pump, that has the return fuel from the fuel pressure regulator peeing in the top of the box. The idea of the box is to keep the fuel pump cool and to also make sure it is submerged, even when the level outside of the box is lower. The box must be damaged or cracked, or possibly the return line has been corrupted so it is missing the box when it pees back into the tank.

I can’t remember the exact measurements of the box, but maybe six inches square. The box is also to make sure there are not performance issues when the tank is low.

Check with your dealer to see if the box can be replaced, or what. If so it will probably require dropping the tank. Might as well do a pump at the same time. :)

It could be that your fuel gauge is reading high due to corrosion on the ground strap from the fuel pump. Mine read high and would run out of gas when it showed 1/4 tank. Can't remember exactly where the ground is, but that may be an issue with yours.
