Hey guys james here I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL my rear end unfortunately has taken a dump lol I need to figure out what year suburban or Tahoe will work for my rear end swap any information would be great I’m just going to swap the whole rear end out since I cannot find the correct differential that will work

If you are going to a salvage yard just give them your year make and model along with G code from your RPO code sticker and their software has interchange built in. Not sure if their system will use your vin or not.

All the 1/2 ton wagons from 2000-2006 with the 5 link suspension. Get one with G80 so you have the locker and match up your rear axle code unless you want different gears if yours is RWD. GU5 (3.23) GU6 (3.42), GT4 (3.73), GT5 (4.10), etc.

Hey @rockola1971 , did the 6.0s come with the 9.5" axle in that generation like the 900s?

Ok thank you for the information!!! May I ask what is the g code or RPO code sticker and where would that be I’m asking because I’m pretty much new to doing anything with real wheel drive anything lol so this is all new to me I am well rounded with a lot of things Honda and front wheel drive

The RPO sheet is affixed to your glovebox door. It has lots of 3 digit codes. You are looking for the "G" codes.
