Just looking for some kind of help here. I am looking to buy a Belltech Lowering Kit for my 07 Yukon Denali and I want to delete the z55 air shocks. My question is, is it possible to use a scan tool such as a GM Tech II to program the vehicle and change the suspension rpo code in the bcm to make it think it has something like the z71 suspension so I wont get the service suspension system light. I know I can just wire in resistors but I am just curious to see if this is a possibility.

Nope. Z55 / Z95 is tied into multiple systems in the vehicle. When it’s disconnected the vehicle won’t go over 88MPH. When it’s fooled with resistors it’s being told all is fine whether you’re about to barrel roll avoiding an accident or towing something that blows a tire and wags the truck.

Best to lower and keep the active suspension. Those that have can attest to the benefits.

I would definitely keep the active suspension.

but with a tech 2 you might be able to run thru the bcm setup and tell it you don't have it. the corvette guys can. and one or 2 have retro fit the mag ride onto their cars that didn't come with it. use a tech 2 to run thru module setup and "turn it on"

I'm half temped to it to mine. there a ex retired gm suspension guy that offers the ability to tune the ride ecm for better handling. sadly I asked if he would work on our trucks. he said no.

As @petethepug stated, you cannot eliminate the code through the use of a Tech 2 on these trucks.

I've had both the passive suspension retrofit (done by previous owner), and the Z55 suspension re-installed (by me), and IMO, the Z55 suspension is a much better suspension. You can lower your suspension and keep your Z55 suspension by installing shorter rods on the 4 level sensors. Folks here on this Forum have successfully done this mod.

Coming from a lowered, smaller, 2 door sport coupe with lowering springs as well as a twin turbo AWD wagon on active, integrated bags I’ll guarantee you’ll want struts / bags that have a lifetime guarantee.

The sport coupe has Koni adjustable low pressure gas charged hydraulic struts. The wagon has Arnott Gen 2 bags made specifically for Audi. When I hit the pothole from hell on either car, no problem guaranteed for life.

Unfortunately Arnott recently stopped their guarantee for life program. GM won’t know your truck is lowered and harder on your bags & z55 but, guaranteed for life regardless. I’ve saved over $6k in today’s money with perfect suspension and ride for almost 20 years for both vehicles. My 09 Esky purchased in ‘20 is on the same lifetime guarantee with the GM z95 now.

It can't. RPO Setup is done automatically when programming a (new) BCM through Service Programming System.

that's a shame. must be a newer vehicle thing. my older 08 c6 walks you thru setup openings for the bcm on the tech 2.

I really wish someone would unlock bcm's on stuff.
