I have an AT4 order placed at my dealership but air ride and tow packages are big wants so my order won't get picked up anytime soon. I might have struck gold and found a z71 with air and tow. Its equipped with just about every major option. Are there any real differences in these 2 or just the aesthetics? What Performance and luxury items am I missing (if any) if I go with the z71 instead of the at4?

I’ve grown so accustomed to HUD on my last four vehicles that it’s a must for me and that option, at least in 2021, was not available on the Z71. Also no fog lights on the Z71 and possibly still some incandescent lights on the Tahoe vs. all LED on the Yukon. Other than that, they’re pretty much identical, but I may still be missing some minor differences.

You might want to think again about air ride and how useful it might be….and what it’s limits are.

Dont think the Z71 gets ventilated seats -- the At4 does. Maybe that matters if you're in a warm area. The HUD is also At4 only. Power retractable running boards are avail on the At4 but not Z71. ELsd was At4 only on the'21s but think that is now on both Z71 and At4.

I really wanted the air suspension too but am 50/50 on whether i'd hold out for it again. For me I've found it's biggest benefit is the auto rear-leveling (which is only available with air suspension). I don't think the air springs make any ride quality improvements over an MRC/steel spring setup having now spent some time in both. The other part of it is the ride height adjustability - depending on what you do you may use that often or never.

Thanks for the response. The vented seats will be missed in Texas summers for sure, but I don't think I'll hold out just for that. HUD is a non issue for me, and retractable steps would have been my preference but oh well. My biggest needs are the eLSD which is on this 22 z71 and the right height adjustment. I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

Purely aesthetics IMO. I considered both, preferred the interior of the AT4 and maybe a slight preference for exterior of Z71. If I felt strongly on either exterior I would have held out but found AT4 XL first.

Looks like I'm holding out. The dealer wouldn't budge off a $5k markup and also offered me $5k less on my trade.
Its a shame, its almost identical to my build, z71 tahoe 6.2 with air and tow, with just about every other option and i confirmed the 3300 event code.
