Z71 vs LT

Hey all in the market and I'm set on gray exterior. But to find a z71 in good condition is hard to do.

What's the main difference in z71 vs Lt? Im eventually adding a small leveling lift kit and wheels and tires.

My only thing I like is captain chairs second row and the dash not being faux wood.

Suggestions?

I looked long and hard and was open to both. Here is what I know:

Z71

- only comes in bucket seats (captain seats) in rear. If your second row has to be a bench, you do not want a Z71
- comes with better suspension and I believe better cooling system for transmission for towing? Its supposed to have additional features that make it more rugged
- has a better skid plate
- has additional features on the exterior like the badge and that front bumper
- possibly can tow more?
- comes with gray trim (no wood)
- features can vary, similar to LT regarding navi, back up camera, etc

LT
- comes in bucket or bench for 2nd row
- features vary, you can find as basic as some LS but I think leather is standard.
- wood trim but only LTZ has the wood trim cup holder area


Looking forward to other feedback but these were the differences I seen. I was happy with either one but really wanted the bench in 2nd row with car seat needed in my fam. The ability to pull up seats automatically is the same, just the driver side seat comes up with the middle part now.

Thank you. I'm just trying to get my mind straight on z71 worth it or ltz and a lift kit. Or a Denali and a lift kit.

basically, the differences between the LT and the Z71 will depend on how well equipped the LT is.

Some time and some of the 3M vinyl and you could be rid of the faux wood for as long as you own the truck. I liked the LTZ, but if I go back to another half ton 'Burban or Tahoe, I would avoid the AutoRide.

From what I saw while shopping for both the Burban and the Hoe, Z71 wasn't worth the premium. I want from a fully loaded LTZ to a practically base fleet Suburban 2500. I miss the limited slip diff and automatic climate control. Heated seats were nice and would be missed if I didn't have cloth fronts. Nav was so-so, but my phone is better with free map upgrades from Google. Oh, the LTZ wheels were much nicer looking that the plain steel wheels I am now sporting.

If you are towing/sportin' bigger tires, you will appreciate a 3.73 ratio.

So how do i know what ratio I have on an LT? I heard those 'autorides' were expensive to replace.

HOw do I know if I have limited slip?

limited slip look for RPO code "G80" on label inside glovebox.

I believe that there is a sticky in the audio section that will explain the radio options and issues better then I can from memory.
