I'm new here, and new to SUV's in general, so don't flame me too hard.
My question is, I know Chevy has made a lot of Z71 models of trucks and SUV's over the years, but did GMC ever make a Z71 Yukon or equivalent during the 2000-2006 GMT800 run? I've seen some advertised, and one on YouTube, but I'm not sure if this is factory or simply someone throwing the label out there.
Thanks
S

Years ago I had a 2wd Tahoe that was not Z71. I just bought the Bilstein shocks and skid plates and installed. Easy peasy. If you have a Yukon just find out what is on the same year Tahoe Z71 and install.

To my knowledge they never made a Yukon with the Z71 package in the NBS. There are some 07+ I believe.

Thx, I guess the next thing would to be find out exactly what came on a, say around 2002, Chevy Z-71 for install on the same year Yukon.

Yes they do actually exist. I have one. They are not called "Z71" package, rather "Off-road Package" from GMC. They have the skid plate, different gearing, bigger shocks & brakes, larger rims, and a few more little things. Heres a pic of my 06. You can just tell by the stance of the truck.yukon side - Copy.jpg

The one truly unique Z71 piece on the GMT-800 trucks seems to the roof rack. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a GMC with a Z71 roof rack. The Z71 rack on the GMT-800 is very distinctive.

That, and the color matched front and rear bumpers instead of the chrome, grayish plastic molding all over the place, the crazy 10-spoke stock wheels, and different front valence with the round fogs. But yeah, the roof rack is definitely the most distinctive.
