Zero offset wheels with 265/70R17 tires on stock suspension '09

Currently I have OEM 20" wheels on an '09 Tahoe with stock suspension. I plan on purchasing 17" wheels so I can run tires with more sidewall. I'm looking at 17x8 wheels with 0 mm offset. Should I expect tire rub, and if so, how much, running 265/70R17 tires on these wheels? Or can anyone recommend a cheap new 17" steel wheel with something closer to factory offset?

Thanks in advance for any guidance or any comments from users with similar setups. I've searched but haven't found anything really definitive on this. (And if there is a definitive thread I've missed, would be indebted to anyone who could provide a link.)

The stock 17" wheel is 17" x 7.5" with a 31 mm offset. The factory 18" wheels are 18 x 8 and use the same 31mm offset.

I would talk with our wheels guys on here or wait for them to chime in.

Just wanted to follow up on this old post of mine in case anyone with a similar question lands on this thread in the future. I wound up putting on 17x8 wheels with zero offset as described above. Haven't noticed any tire rub. There's maybe a little more mud and crud on the side of the vehicle after going out on wet/sloppy roads, but that's probably to be expected with the wider offset. Generally I'm happy with the result.

(By the way, mods, I noticed that this thread is accidentally in the forum for 2015+ model years; evidently I goofed when creating it because my vehicle is a 2009. Any chance this thread could be moved?)

Post some pics of the new wheel setup so we can see what it looks like.

Hey, I'm actually looking to do the same thing. Could you post pics? I'm not sure whether to go with the zero offset, or keep the factory offset to avoid any headaches later on.
