was planning on the 454 (plus some goodies) swap out of a 96 2500 burban, more of a "why not", when the time comes. but since gas just went up AGAIN #!*(#!>><&*($#@ i will probably opt for the 383 option as well. with a good tune i should be able to keep my MPG 'when' I keep my foot out of it. unless your strapped for cash the 383 should be the default choice.

You can always ask Obama to pay for your gas while he is in a spending mood. You could have him throw it in the budget for the next 2 years. lol
Yea I think that 383 will be a good choice as far as keeping it simple. or as I like to say keep it simple stupid. Hel;ps remind my brain to not get in the way with some strange reasoning as to why I should use one over the other lol. hate it when it does that .

I find the more power I get the worse mpg I get. Not cuz the motor is less efficient but because I can't stay out of the throttle!!!
