2008 tahoe 5.3l in need of desperate help

If the cam is original and the lifters are new then that could be causing it. Lifters wear to the cam.

How about coil pack wires? Swapped or replaced?

Has your buddy tried to swap cylinders 1 And 2 coil packs with another cylinder and see if the misfire switches? Eliminate a bad coil pack and spark plug first

I did try to start it without the serpentine belt on to eliminate that possibility.

P0641 after during oil pump Install

2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2 So I attempted to install a new oil pump but was interrupted half way and had to stop. I removed the water pump. I removed the power steering pump rack assembly (5 bolts) and pushed it off to the side. I used a factory gm puller and tried with that along with O'Reillys...

Well if you look at that cam picture it's pretty worn. So maybe I will order a stage 3 kit, new chromoly push rods and see where that takes me

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

I did the down hill and it didn't help. I also overfilled a few quarts and that didn't help either. So I'm assuming the oil pump is completely shot.

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

Well I will make a party of it and order a new cam when I do the oil pump. Now I just have to decide if I should do a stage 2/3 upgrade.

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

Here is a question for everyone. I looked at the cam right before reassembly and I'm noticing some marks. Wondering if I should replace this cam? Should I consider like a stage 2/3 kit?

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

Well I took my time and redid the valley pan cover, gaskets and cleaned everything. Oil pressure is reaching higher now into the 40-45psi range on startup but still drops considerably too low after warm so I will tackle the oil pump next week. I was hoping to get to it today but that won't...

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

I am also wondering if my oil leak will minimize as well. I just wish I knew why the previous owner went through the trouble of removing the intake and sealed the edges but didn't replace the gasket. I was told the valley pan didn't need sealer around it. I was contemplating using some extra...

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

So here we are. I decided to do the valley pan first. I'm glad I did. Every bolt on the valley pan was loose Absolutely no socket wrench was needed. Every last screw was unscrewed with my fingers. I used a pry tool and patience to get the valley pan up. Every last square inch had black sealant...
